Example prompts for each Shindig MCP tool
This page lists example prompts for Shopify merchants. Each prompt names a real Shindig MCP tool. Use them after your assistant is connected with your API key, or adapt the same requests to the REST API. The Free plan does not include API or MCP. Plus is $4.99 per month or $45 per year, and Plus50 is $24.95 per month or $224.55 per year. Each paid plan includes a 14-day free trial. API and MCP need Plus or Plus50.
Dates in a prompt must be YYYYMMDD integers. Sales summary and event sales allow 365 days. Sales detail and PayPal payouts allow 90 days. Replace EVENT_ID with an id from list_active_events.

Ask the assistant to create an event with save_event

Use save_event to create an event. Title: Spring Spirit Wear. Description: a short HTML paragraph. startDate: 20260401. endDate: 20260430. siteName: spring-spirit-wear. Do not send an eventId.Those five fields are required on create. siteName allows letters, numbers, dashes, and underscores. Dates are YYYYMMDD integers.

Use search_shop_products with query hoodie, then use save_event with eventId EVENT_ID and eventProducts set to the shopifyProductId and shopifyVariantId you found. Do not invent ids.A non-empty eventProducts list replaces the whole promoted list. Omit eventProducts to leave products as they are. Pass an empty list only when you mean to clear them.

Use get_event_total_sales for event EVENT_ID with beginDate 20260101 and endDate 20260331.Omit both dates for lifetime totals. A range can be at most 365 days.

The server also includes named prompts
The MCP server also registers these prompts: create_event_from_brief, attach_promoted_products, set_event_password, year_end_sales_summary, and run_sales_detail. They tell the assistant which tool to call. year_end_sales_summary uses sales_summary_report for a calendar year. run_sales_detail uses sales_detail_report and stays inside 90 days.
